Details:                
I am descended from James Barnfather of Bromfield, CUL, born about
1746.  He is reputed to be the son of David Barnfather and Mary
Armstrong of Hardhirst Farm, Lanercost, CUL, but there has been no
conclusive evidence for this to date.  

James' grandson, also named James, was born in Wigton, CUL, in 1816, the
son of David Barnfather and Grace Denwood.  He moved to Salford,
Lancashire, where he married Mary Ann Kennedy in 1844.
